HushCut
Privacy Policy for HushCut
Effective Date: July 2026
HushCut is an iOS video editing app designed to remove silent sections from videos. This Privacy Policy explains how HushCut handles information when you use the app.
Information We Collect
HushCut does not require you to create an account and does not collect your name, email address, contacts, or other account information.
HushCut does not use advertising services and does not sell personal data.
The app may store limited, non-sensitive information locally on your device, such as:
- Free export usage and timing
- App preferences
- Technical settings required for video processing and export
This locally stored information is not uploaded to HushCut servers.
Subscription-related information may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat as described below.
How We Use Information
Information handled by HushCut is used only to:
- Process and edit videos on your device
- Apply free usage limits
- Save your app preferences
- Check whether you have an active premium subscription
- Restore eligible purchases and subscription access
HushCut does not use your information for advertising, user profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Video and Photo Data
Videos are processed entirely on your device. They are not uploaded to HushCut servers.
HushCut requests access to your photo library only when needed to:
- Select a video for editing
- Save an exported video to your photo library
Your original video remains unchanged. HushCut creates a separate edited copy when you export or save a processed video.
HushCut does not remotely collect, store, view, or share your videos.
You can manage photo library permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store payment system. HushCut does not receive or store your payment card details.
RevenueCat is used to manage subscription status and determine whether premium features should be available. RevenueCat may process:
- Purchase and subscription information
- Product identifiers
- Subscription status
- A randomly generated anonymous app user identifier that is not based on your name or email address
This information is used only to provide and manage subscription access.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Third-Party Services
HushCut uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store and StoreKit: Process purchases, subscriptions, and payment-related information.
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and purchase entitlements.
These services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms. HushCut does not control their independent data practices.
Data Retention
Videos are not retained by HushCut because they remain on your device and are not uploaded to HushCut servers.
Locally stored usage information remains on your device until it is cleared by the app or operating system, or until you delete the app.
Apple and RevenueCat may retain purchase and subscription information according to their own legal obligations and retention policies.
Because HushCut does not create user accounts, it does not maintain an account database containing personal profiles.
Children’s Privacy
HushCut is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.
HushCut does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
User Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, or deletion.
Because HushCut does not create user accounts or upload videos, it generally does not hold personal information that can be directly associated with you.
You can:
- Remove locally stored HushCut information by deleting the app
- Change photo library permissions in iOS Settings
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
- Contact us with privacy-related questions or requests
Requests involving information processed directly by Apple or RevenueCat may need to be submitted to those providers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if HushCut’s features, data practices, or legal requirements change.
When the policy is updated, the revised version will include a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or its App Store listing when appropriate.
